Vincent Stadlmair
Cello and Chamber Music

Austrian/German cellist Vincent Stadlmair lives in Denmark as principal cellist of the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and member of the MIRA Quartet. He also teaches at Aalborg conservatory.
Vincent Stadlmair is born in München, where he grew up in a musical family (father-composer/conductor and brother-violinist). He began his studies at the conservatory there, continued at the University of Toronto (with Vladimir Orloff) and completed his education with the Diploma at the music academy in Vienna (with Andre Navarra and Valentin Erben). Other main influences were William Pleeth and Heinrich Schiff.
In Vienna he began his carrier as the cellist of the Franz Schubert Quartett – Wien which for more than a decade gave him the opportunity to perform worldwide, to teach and record. After that – and before moving to Denmark - he also held the position of solo cellist of the Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg.
Vincent Stadlmair has been Professor for chamber music at the academy of music in Graz, he has been docent for Violoncello at the Vienna academy and he still teaches every summer at the Int. Kammermusik Festival Austria. He has appeared as soloist with the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, the Münchener Kammerorchester, Bruckner Orchester Linz, Hofer Symphoniker and others.
